Many Children Left Behind

This is good news.

As a former elementary school teacher and current homeschooling parent, I can honestly say that No Child Left Behind is a pile of crap.  It does not measure what the child is learning; it simply forces teachers to teach to a test.  The result is that they are often left with little time to teach what actually needs to be taught.

Please don’t try to tell me that NCLB was created in a well-meaning manner.  It wasn’t.  Wasted taxpayer dollars and government involvement where it was not needed is what happened with NCLB.  Don’t believe me?  See for yourself.  Use your favorite Internet search engine and your head will spin.

My son is being homeschooled for the first time this year, namely because he fell behind.  He’s a smart kid (edited to add: he’s gifted, okay?) 🙂 who earned straight A’s and a Presidential Academic Achievement Award; sadly, this was earned through many tears as his teacher “ignored” the needs of the “smart” kids.  I am glad to say he is now catching up and thriving.  Will he attend homeschool forever?  That’s another post.  Stay tuned. 🙂

Lib Says: I can’t wait for the other 40 states to ditch this pile of crap.
